The Stratton Wedding

Caitlin and Jeremy tied the knot this April and it was the perfect way to start my 2019 wedding season! This beautiful day was filled with so much love and laughter, I can’t help smiling and feeling all warm inside when I think of it!

The Details

I always start every wedding day by photographing flat lays of the Bride and Groom’s wardrobe details. It’s a really good way to get my creative juices flowing, plus it gives the bride and her maids some extra time to finish hair and makeup. I adore taking the time to document the details of what they are wearing because it tells its own little story. These are probably some of the most important things the Bride and Groom will ever wear, so it’s really crucial to me to capture them in a beautiful and detailed way.

Getting Ready

Some of the sweetest and most beautiful moments happen while a Bride and Groom are finishing getting ready. The excitement and anticipation is palpable and they are so happy! Their friends and family buzz around them with kindness and loving encouragement. Emotions run deep and that makes for wonderful photos!

The First Looks

Caitlin decided to have a First Look with her father. It was such a precious moment! As soon as Cait touched her father’s shoulder, he lost it! His face in these photos tells it all! After they had their moment, Caitlin’s mom joined them and the pride and happiness her parents felt was obvious.

Jeremy was the CUTEST! He was so nervous to see Caitlin! She had quite the descent down that long flight of stairs and Jeremy’s anticipation was building and building! When Cait told him he could turn around, it took him a second to gather himself together so he could take her beauty in.

The Portraits

My favorite part of the day was working with Jeremy and Caitlin on their portraits. First of all, they are such a handsome couple! But more than that, they are deeply in love and it shows. Jeremy is so kind and respectful of Caitlin and Caitlin dotes on Jeremy. When two people care for each other that much, taking beautiful photos of them is a piece of cake!

The Bridal Party was a dream to work with! Everyone was so kind and had a great sense of humor! I love the colors that Cait picked out too! They photographed so well!

The Ceremony

After all of the portraits were finished, we headed off to the Lock and Dam Building in Newburgh, IN for the ceremony. This was another very emotional part of the day and it was pure photo gold! Tears flowed freely from many of the guest, family members, and the Bride and Groom themselves. You could feel all of the love within those walls.

The Reception

The crowning moment of every wedding is always the reception! All of the pressure is off and it’s time for the Bride, Groom and their guests to let loose! This was a great group of people and they did a wonderful job celebrating the new Mr. and Mrs. Stratton at Preservation Hall in Newburgh, IN.

The Send-off

Cait and Jeremy planned a floating lantern release as their send – off. We ended up having to do it a little earlier in the evening than we planned due to rain. I thought the soft evening light and glow from the lanterns created a dreamy atmosphere! There were definitely some hilarious moments as they guests prepared their lanterns, but all in all it was a really fun experience for everyone involved.

Caitlin and Jeremy are a couple that are destined to live a life full of love, understanding, growth, and adventure! It was a complete honor to photograph their wedding and I am so over the moon that I had the opportunity to get to know them and their families. Congratulations, Jeremy and Cait! You deserve all the happiness in the world!
