Amanda + Nick are Having a Baby!

Last spring, Amanda reached out to me. She wanted to know if I would be open and available to photograph several incredibly important moments that would be happening in her life over the upcoming year. She was pregnant with her first baby and wanted to work with one photographer to capture her birth announcement, maternity, birth, and newborn sessions. I was 100% in and I am so grateful for the journey she and her little family took me on!

The Maternity Session

Amanda and Nick met up with me in Evansville, IN for their maternity session. We wanted to take advantage of the beautiful grounds and historical architecture at The Rathbone. Amanda picked out the most beautiful maternity gowns and we had a lot of fun playing with them! Even though she was incredibly uncomfortable, being 8+ months pregnant, you would never know by her portraits. She was the picture of maternal perfection and I am obsessed with how her collection turned out!

The thing I love most about Amanda is her witty sense of humor and her ability to laugh at the human condition. She is really funny and has the biggest heart. As I mentioned in my last blog post featuring her pregnancy announcements, she and Nick are foster parents. I just think the world of her willingness to help needy children in her community. I think it takes a special kind of strength to do what she does. She has fostered over 20 children. I think that finally having the opportunity mother her own flesh and blood has got to be something special!

I knew I would love Amanda in her soft, blush gown, but I had no idea how jaw-dropping she would be in the red one! Her looks paired perfectly with our location and we had so much fun creating such dreamy photos!

Not long after this session was finished, Amanda, Nick, and I met up again for their baby’s birth! Keep your eye out for a few highlights from that magical night! The birth of a baby is the most amazing experience and I cannot wait to share a few photos here!
