Yorba Linda Couples Photography

Shayne contacted me with big plans in mind! He heard that I offered couples photography in Yorba Linda, CA, which is pretty close to Laguna Beach. He wanted to propose to his girlfriend, Amber, and he wanted me to be there, incognito, to capture the whole thing! Once Shayne and I agreed on the perfect spot, he got to work making all of the arrangements.

The Setup

Shayne invited Amber for a leisurely walk at Heisler Park to watch the sunset before heading off to a romantic dinner at a local restaurant. They were getting ready to head to the midwest to celebrate the holidays with their families. Shayne told Amber he wanted one last opportunity to connect with her before all of the madness started. She swallowed the bait, hook, line, and sinker.

I arrived to Heisler Park to make sure I was in place for the big moment. I sat on a park bench overlooking the ocean, eagerly anticipating Shayne and Amber’s arrival. When they arrived, I quietly gathered my things and moved to a nearby to spot so I could keep an eye on their movement.

Shayne lazily lead Amber down to the sand for a walk on the beach. They enjoyed the feeling of the sand between their toes and the gorgeous pink sunset. I followed them from a distance, camera ready to capture the moment Shayne bent down on one knee.

The Proposal

Shayne kneeled down and asked for Amber’s hand in marriage to the sound of cheering onlookers. Amber was completely surprised and her reaction was priceless! Her face lit up even more when she realized I was there capturing the entire moment!

Amber and Shayne took a moment to take in all in. Then, we spent a few moments taking “formal” portraits with the Laguna Beach sunset as our backdrop. It was breathtaking and definitely a core memory for all of us!

I was so honored to have been chosen to capture this very special moment for Shayne and Amber! I know their future is bright and I am so glad I got to be a part of preserving part of their history.
