Last summer, I collaborated with JoElle Elise Design, Piece of Cake Bakery, The Hair Traveler, and the folks at one of Evansville, Indiana’s new event venues, The Rathbone, for a styled wedding inspiration photo shoot.
The Rathbone is a historical building that was dedicated in 1905. It was originally used as one of Indiana’s first all-female retirement homes and continued to be used as a nursing home until the newest owners converted the property to luxury apartments in 2018. Not only does the space offer beautiful, modern living space, it also boasts several AirBnB rooms and long term corporate housing.
Starting in 2019, The Rathbone became available for events and weddings. This particular photo shoot was to help launch their event space!
Although completely unintentional, the styling ended up throwing a fairytale nod to Beauty and the Beast! Our model, Lydia, who was completely gorgeous in her ballgown and swept up hair was a dead ringer for Belle. I especially loved the candelabras and glass-encased rose decor. The fact that there was a floor-to-ceiling library was the icing on the happily accidental Disney princess cake. It was really fun making some photo magic here.
If you’re looking for a gorgeous historical location for your wedding or other event, make sure to check out The Rathbone!
