Carly + Tyler: Indianapolis Summer Engagement Session

Engagements

As I’m writing this blog post, my heart is a bit heavy. You see, this Saturday, May 30th, is when Carly and Tyler were supposed to get married. Enter the COVID-19 Pandemic and we are no longer celebrating this weekend. However, a new date has been set for August and the decision was made early and swiftly in response to what was going on. I have a feeling this is a good example of how this couple will never let a thing, not even a worldwide crisis, get in the way of their relationship. #goals

The Meeting and Proposal

Tyler and Carly met at a mutual friend’s house party. Carly overheard Tyler mention how much he loved the Led Zeppelin song that was playing over the radio. That sparked a conversation that has led to a 7+ year relationship and subsequent proposal.

Both Carly and Tyler are passionate about EDM (Electronic Dance Music) and their favorite music festival is Electric Forest. Appropriately, it was at an Electric Forest festival where Tyler popped the question under what Carly describes as “a really cool art installation.” What I wouldn’t give to have been a fly on the wall at that proposal!

The Couple

Besides being a fashion enthusiast and Bridal Consultant at Ella Park Bridal in Newburgh, IN, Carly is a loyal friend and daughter. She says her mom is her best friend and they enjoy shopping and running errands together.

Tyler is a Sous Chef at Biaggi’s Ristorante Italiano and loves everything revolving around the culinary world. When he’s not working or spending time with Carly and their exquisite Alaskan Malamute, Takoda, he is busily honing his skills in the kitchen. It must be really hard to be with a man who can cook! J/K x 1,000,000,000!!!! Can you imagine?! My mouth is watering just thinking of all the tasty things Tyler creates for Carly (and I may or may not be a little jealous…)

In their down time, the future Mr. and Mrs. May enjoy dining out (and in. Because, built in chef. Duh), watching their favorite WWII documentaries, reality shows, and Dragon Ball Z, and spending time with their close friends. They are also fond of long, scenic drives with their favorite doggo while listening to good music.

When I asked the couple to describe each other and tell me what their favorite things about each other are, this is what they said:

Carly, “I’d describe Ty as kind, strong, loving, hilarious and genuine. (My favorite thing about him is) how much he makes me laugh and smile, hands down.”

Tyler, “(Carly is) passionate, loyal, beautiful, strong, and generous. (My favorite thing about her is) her ambition and how she supports and uplifts me.”

The Wedding

The things that Carly and Tyler are most excited for about their wedding are moments that are near and dear to my heart as well. They are looking forward to all of their firsts, like their first look and first dance, Tyler waiting at the end of the aisle for Carly, and taking pictures as a newly married couple. Be still my heart! I can’t wait to celebrate with Mr. and Mrs. May in August at Farmer and Frenchman in Henderson, KY!
