The Cambridge English Dictionary defines the word heritage as: features belonging to the culture of a particular society, such as traditions, languages, or buildings, that were created in the past and still have historical importance. Planning a heritage-filled wedding adds an element of significance and a feeling of longevity to a union. Choosing to celebrate at a historical venue is not only a great way to share your heritage, but it also creates the most inviting and memorable ambiance for your wedding.
One of my favorite wedding venues in Fishers, IN is The Historic Ambassador House and Heritage Gardens. Nestled among native trees and beautiful floral landscapes, the Historic Ambassador House and Heritage Gardens is an ideal setting for your dream wedding or special event. Rich in both history and charm, the Greek Revival style home, private grounds, and lush gardens create an ambiance for you and your guests to enjoy every special moment.
Getting Ready
April booked the cutest AirBnB for her and her maids to get ready at. We were especially lucky because this little house came with the cutest sun room and garden for all of her getting ready photos.
Chris was getting ready with his boys at an inn just down the street from April. To add a little bit of extra light and room, we opened up the French doors on the patio.
Once April and Christ were dressed, they each opened letters and gifts from one another. It was such a special moment and both of them became very emotional.
The First Look
We found the prettiest spot on the Wabash River for Chris and April’s first look. They shared a quiet moment together under the canopy of the almost 100 year old Harmony Way Bridge. April was surprised at how emotional Chris became. She was deeply touched by his tenderness.
The Bride and Groom
The best part of any wedding for me is photographing the Bride and Groom portraits. Dedicating an ample amount of time to document two people in love on one of the biggest days of their lives is incredibly rewarding. April and Chris radiated happiness throughout their entire session. Their infectious smiles and sweet embraces were intoxicating.
The Bridal Party
Like many couples, Chris and April surrounded themselves with their closest friends and family on their big day. Their Bridesmaids and Groomsmen have been through thick and thin with them. Including them in their bridal party was April’s and Chris’ way of honoring their friendships. Two very special people included in the Bridal Party were Chris and April’s children. These cutie-pies made the group photos especially sweet.
A Special Moment
April wanted to share a special moment with her father, whom she is very close with. Sadly, April lost a brother a few years ago and that experience bonded April and her dad even closer. During April’s first look with her dad, they became surrounded by butterflies. They knew it was her brother making his presence known.
The Ceremony
Chris and April wed in a tear and laughter filled outdoor ceremony. They made their promises before God and their families, and then finished the ceremony enveloped in both love and bubbles.
The Reception
The new Mr. and Mrs. Goins hosted the best soiree for their guests. They included all of the traditional reception formalities, then capped the night off with a glowing sparkler exit.
